Getting Started
Getting Started. If you are reviewing this information, then you may be considering selecting Logical Developments as your business partner for IT related services. As shown on our web site, and in our corporate communications, we provide a wide-range of IT services, as a direct result of the length of time we have been involved in the Information Technology sector and our experiences with both large and small organizations. If this is the case, then we thank you for considering Logical Developments.
Project Initiation Guide
Initially we need to learn about you. For many new Clients, we begin with our Project Initiation Guide, a set of forms and collection requests that starts the information gathering process about your business, about your people and about your technology. Few customers have their IT information organized or brought together into a unified collection, and the Initiation Guide is often the first time information that could be critical to your business is assembled into a cohesive document. It would be rare for a Client (unheard of actually!) to be able to pull together all of the information that properly documents their IT, but the Guide will help.
IT Asset Inventory & Site Documentation
Next, in most cases, we will perform a technical inventory, both verifying some of the information collected by the Guide, and collecting information using our custom LANWin and Site Documentation tools to create a snapshot of your site, your equipment and your infrastructure. This will be essential in any IT projects that will be considered.
Top Business Issues
Most importantly, we will talk with you about your IT goals, wishes and dreams. About what your technology does, and about what it does not do. About reliability, about flexibility and about capability. And during these discussions, it is your business issues that are important, not the technology behind them. It is our job to translate and present the solution that IT changes, upgrades or investments may offer.
Project Plans
As your business issues are defined, project plans will be created to solve these issues. At Logical Developments will do not believe in executing IT Projects without a plan. Project Plans articulate the Objectives, the Impact Scope, and the Goals. This is what is to be done. They include a Walkthrough – this is how it will be done. They include a detailed quotation where the costs of services, materials and management are shown, so that you see what it will cost, and why those costs are involved. We do projects, not magic.
